Conferences

SPM NIWAS regularly organises national conferences to promote knowledge exchange, research, innovation and collaboration in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector. 

In 2026, the Institute organised the National WASH Conference on 16 February, focusing on innovations and best practices in WASH, and co-organised the National Conference on Climate Resilient WASH (CRWASH2026) with Jadavpur University on 28 September. These conferences brought together policymakers, researchers, academicians, practitioners and sector experts to deliberate on emerging challenges, share research findings and explore sustainable solutions. 

The publication of conference proceedings further strengthened the Institute's commitment to knowledge dissemination, evidence-based policymaking and capacity building in the WASH sector.
